Leo is 4 weeks old already!
Things are going well. Leo still feeds quite a lot and is putting on weight as he should. He seems to sleep quite a lot in the early evening and then wakes about 10pm until midnight. Then will wake at 2 for a feed and then again at 5. I usually feed him at 7 too. He can then feed once an hour for about 3 hours before having a sleep. Around dinner time he has another feeding frenzy! I don't really mind as long as I can fit it all in.
The health visitor came last Thursday and he was 9lb. She is due again this Thursday so I will be able to update the weight then. Nothing much was really said that I was interested in so I have nothing to add.
Leo has started smiling on a regular basis and I'm trying hard to capture it on video. It is so cute, he opens his whole mouth.
Yesterday I had my first physio session. My stomach muscles are back to 1 1/2cm which is completely normal! The physio was very surprised but pleased. She said I had obviously been doing my exercises. My pelvis is still unstable so I still have to see her again in about a months time.
I booked my 6 week check up but it actually falls at 8 weeks. I may need to check if that is OK as my bladder is still slightly prolapsed.
My hair has now started to fall out. Not in big clumps but I'm seeing it on the kitchen and living room floor. I also need to wash it more often now which is a real pain seeing as I have less time.
I decided to do my measurements after all, as it might give me a bit of an incentive to stop eating all the junk food that I am currently eating. I wont be doing pictures though.
My target is the following:
Weight = 11st 6lbs
Tummy = 85cm
Upper arm = 27cm
Upper leg = 57cm
Ankle = 23.5cm
Neck = 32.5cm
I am currently:
Weight = 12st 11lbs
Tummy = 97cm
Upper arm = 30cm!
Upper leg = 64cm!
Ankle = 24cm
Neck = 33cm
I went back to the hospital today to get Leo registered. As I turned into the road it is on my stomach turned over with nerves and I had to do a long breathe out. Everything just came flooding back.
Parking was a fiasco and hard and hot work but the actual registering took 5 minutes, literally. I can now get on with the child benefit forms.
I am extremely happy as a mother of 2. It is hard work and I am sometimes very tired but it is all worth it. My boys are the best and I love them very much. The whole experience this time has been amazing and surpassed anything that I could have expected. I would love to have a big family but time will tell on that one.
Talking about expanding the family, I need to start taking my pill again soon. I need to find it first! ;o)
I wanted to save a picture of the website when I was 40 weeks pregnant, showing zero days left to go. So here it is.
I think I'm doing quite well. Obviously I have my off days but so far things are good. There doesn't seem to have been that much adjustment this time. I still feel like me, or at least the way I was before having Leo. It was much harder first time around, feeling as rough as I did, and having to learn how to be a mother. I didn't know what was going on, I was in a complete haze, felt like a zombie and I didn't know where I had gone. Sounds a bit too deep for me I know but it was a very strange time for me.
I'm enjoying each day as it comes and trying to not wish time away. Taking in each moment and cherishing every first that my children do.
Bye 2020

New year, new blog post. I have so much I could write about that has
happened over the last few months but I'm not sure this is the best place
to put it...
